This is my first blog ever and I wanted to start off by saying thank you for taking the time to read! This blog will be about my personal journey of being a Youth Pastor in Hong Kong and the other various adventures that come with it, grammar not included. This was my first full day after arriving the previous night. I was given a very great blessing from the church families where I will be working! Then I pass out in the bed. I wake up in the very generous Bing and Toa home at 3:30 am, jet lag, then fall back asleep.
Then I wake up 6:00 am and figure might as well go for a run. I want to start off by saying that my host lives at one of the highest elevation wise apartment complexes in Hong Kong. That being said, I decide I will go 15minutes out and then come back. The 1st half of this run goes great. I think it is the fastest 5k I ever have run maybe even further, I did not take the time to measure, I have not run regularly in a while so this is delightful, though I do dread what is to come. 15min is up and now the turn....... I make my way back up this mountain. Painfully breathing I continue, I press on. My jog becomes a walk and then my walk becomes a jog, I dare not stop #workoutgoals. The total time that it takes for me to take this most difficult journey is 45 min 8 sec, 15 min downhill 30 min uphill. My legs are now noodles but I digress, the day must continue.
We head to the church where I see the room that I will be working with God to transform the youth, all I can say is enormous. Then I find my desk fill out some more paperwork and continue with the day. We meet up with a friend who takes us to get phones and find stuff for our, soon to be, apartment that we also visit today. We find everything we need, and can easily afford it due to the generous gift of the youth parents, but still can't use phones because you need a Hong Kong identity card to sign up for anything😔, wich we have an appointment to get tomorrow.😎
The day continues and I can barely eat dinner from sheer tiredness. I finish, then pass out for another day.
